Respecting Sacred Spaces Through Heritage-Compliant Wayfinding Design
Designing a directional network for landmark places of worship requires a deep respect for the building's aesthetic DNA. For the Taksim Mosque framework, our environmental graphic designers ensured that the signage felt like a natural extension of the interior walls rather than a functional overlay. Every element—from directional icons to zone identifiers—was meticulously scaled to blend with the grand Arabic calligraphy and structural proportions of the mosque. The multilingual layouts were executed with absolute minimalism to guarantee clear navigation for international visitors while preserving the tranquil ambiance of the prayer halls.
Premium Material Metallurgy and Master Artisanship
The sophisticated combination of custom marble panels, intricate woodwork, and gold leaves within the mosque mandated a high-end material palette for the wayfinding assets. Yöntime completely avoided mass-market plastics or basic metals, selecting instead premium-grade architectural brass, custom-brushed antique bronze, and seasoned solid hardwoods. The metals were processed via high-precision CNC milling to achieve perfect geometric lines, then sealed with multi-layer anti-tarnish protective coatings to guarantee lifetime resistance against oxidation. Where signs met marble columns, custom inlay and relief textures were applied to deliver an uncompromising luxury finish.
Non-Destructive Structural Fastening and Zero-Tolerance Installation
Executing field assembly inside a monumental structure like the Taksim Mosque demands exceptional engineering care. To protect the valuable marble facades and historic plasterwork from fracture stresses, Yöntime’s structural installation crews deployed custom-engineered non-destructive micro-anchoring techniques. Mechanical impacts were strictly minimized; high-tensile signage elements were anchored using micro-diameter entries combined with specialized non-staining structural adhesives that leave the host stone's structural integrity perfectly intact. For highly sensitive areas, self-supporting freestanding brass pylons were deployed, completing the project with total reverence for the architectural masterpiece.
